BitTorrent is huge in the world of digital distribution.  Whether legal or illegal the system is setup so that with each person that downloads (leeches) the file they become a source (seed) for the file making a nice strong broadband platform for delivering the file.

On a recent post by Smaran at Torrentfreak he explains how some forward-thinking labels are utilizing the technology to spread their artist’ music.

The platform is solid and the downloaders on BT are willing so why not make the obvious move and give them something to listen to or watch?
